The board unanimously voted to appoint Yanez during a special session meeting today, which followed in-person interviews with five finalists.
“The final five applicants provided outstanding interviews and we are grateful for their passion and commitment to our district,” said Board President, Aaron Salt. “Following detailed deliberation, we are excited to welcome Lauren to the Board. As a lifelong educator, and former D20 teacher and staff member, Lauren brings a great depth of experience. Her skills will be integral to furthering the success of Academy District 20 and helping us achieve our Board Ends of knowledge, skills, and character.”
Yanez will take her Oath of Office tomorrow, Dec. 19, at 4:30 p.m., in the Board Room at the Education and Administration Center. Her first official board meeting will be Thursday, Jan. 4, 2024.
