Only the children of Academy District 20 residents are considered for the Early Access program. These children must demonstrate the following skills:

  • high aptitude,

  • achievement at or above the 97th percentile,

  • cognitive performance at or above the 97th percentile,

  • readiness for advanced placement,

  • observable advanced social behavior,

  • motivation to learn, and

  • support from parents.

The determination of a student’s qualification for Early Access is solely at the discretion of Academy District 20. 

 

Application Process

Interested families may request an application packet from the Talented and Gifted (TAG) department.

The application timeline is as follows:

  • First Monday in January: Call in period for Early Access application begins.

  • January 15: First day completed Early Access application may be submitted to the TAG department at the EAC.

  • March 15: Last day completed Early Access applications will be accepted for consideration for the following school year.

  • March 15 - April 1: Early Access review team will be considering applications, testing and interviewing potential candidates.

  • April 25: All decisions will be finalized and communicated.
