In the sixth priority of our Strategic Plan, we are focused on building community partnerships.

Community Partnerships Focus Areas

  • Develop district CTE advisories in specific industry clusters.

  • Develop work-based learning systems and opportunities for secondary students.

  • Create a matrix on community partnerships.

  • Develop a district/site communication and marketing plan for college/career planning, CTE, concurrent/dual college enrollment, and work-based learning.

  • Support the development of Career Academies throughout district high schools.

Targets and Measures

  • Short Term Targets:

    1. Students are college and career ready by the end of the 12th grade year, >55% of all students will have successfully earned college credit, CTE pathway completion, an industry certification, and/or participated in a work-based learning experience (i.e. job-shadow, clinical experience, credit-for-work, internship, pre-apprenticeship, industry-sponsored project, supervised entrepreneurship experience).

    2. AP/IB/college credit and CTE program participation will demonstrate proportionality for all subgroups (12th grade cohort).

    3. 90% of all students (9-12th grade cohort) will engage in career exploration and planning by completing the ICAP process.

    4. Develop partnerships and participate in regional advisories, committees, councils regarding community partnerships, education, industry and housing development, and workforce readiness.

    5. Through research and collaboration, develop a matrix that defines needs within the district and the types of support and partnerships to address those needs.

    6. Public Schools on Military Installations (PSMI): Collaborate with the United States Air Force Academy (USAFA) and the Office of Local Defense Community Cooperation (OLDCC) for approval to remodel/rebuild Douglass Valley Elementary School (DVES) and Air Academy High School (AAHS) as part of the PSMI Program.

  • Long Term Targets:

    1. Students are college and career ready by the end of the 12th grade year, >85% of all students will have successfully earned college credit, CTE pathway completion, an industry certification, and/or participated in a work-based learning experience (i.e. job-shadow, clinical experience, credit-for-work, internship, pre-apprenticeship, industry-sponsored project, supervised entrepreneurship experience).

    2. AP/IB/college credit and CTE program successful completion (grades C or higher and AP(≥3)/IB(≥4) test results) will demonstrate proportionality for all subgroups (12th grade cohort).

    3. 95% of all students (9-12th grade cohort) will engage in career exploration and planning by completing the ICAP process.

    4. Continued partnership and participation in regional advisories, committees, councils regarding community partnerships, education, industry and housing development, and workforce readiness.

    5. Implement and refine the multi-tiered matrix that is shared with staff and prospective community partners to more clearly articulate district and partner needs and types of partnerships to be pursued.

    6. Short-term goals specific to the PSMI Program are to ensure that the D20 proposal is approved by the USAFA and the OLDCC and that the grant funding from the OLDCC is secured for the remodel/rebuild of DVES and AAHS.

  • Measures:

    1. As measured by non-duplicated student data for: CTE pathway completers (2-year min. >C grades), concurrent/dual college enrollment course >C grades, successful work-based learning participation data, industry certifications earned, and AP(≥3)/IB(≥4) test results.

    2. As measured by collected course enrollment data, grades, AP/IB test score data, and IC/transcripts.

    3. As measured by active engagement with the D20 ICAP process and the creation of each student’s ICAP plan as recorded in the college and career platform.

    4. As measured by the number of industry partnerships through advisories, committees, and project-based and/or work-based learning participation data and advisory/committee meeting agendas.

    5. As measured by the development and implementation of a multi-tier matrix program and document that defines the types of supports and needs of the district.

    6. The successful completion of the approved construction to rebuild/remodel Doug Valley Elementary School and Air Academy High School.
