Extracurricular Opportunity

  • Follow policy and provide a variety of opportunities based on student need.​

  • Document participation in CHSAA-sponsored activities.​

  • Develop data collection tool to track non-CHSAA activities.​

  • Track annual activity participation rates.​

  • Partner with HR & Finance to determine supervision needs. 

Increased Attendance

  • Track those at risk of being chronically absent.​

Wellness Standards

Targets and Measures

  1. Participation

    • Short Term Target - By May 2024, 85% of students (K-12) will participate in a school/district-sponsored extracurricular activity or volunteer opportunity. (This school year will be used to establish a baseline as well as methods for data collection.)

    • Long Term Target - By May 2026, 90% of students (K-12) will participate in a school/district-sponsored extracurricular activity or volunteer opportunity.

    • Measures - A.) As measured by the Climate and/or SEL survey given annually in January/February with students self-reporting if they participate in an extracurricular activity. B.) As measured by a data collection tool, i.e. Infinite Campus, spreadsheet submitted by each school of student participation. 

  2. Attendance

    • Short Term Target - By May 2024, attendance rates will increase by 1% for each level – elementary, middle, and high. Attendance rates for 2022-23 school year (without charter schools): Elementary 92.22%, Middle 91.5%, High 89.96%.

    • Long Term Target - By May 2026, attendance rates at each school will be at least 90%. (90% is the threshold for attendance from The Indicator and Intervention Manual - John Hopkins University School of Education for the Everyone Graduates Center.)

    • Measures - As measured by an Infinite Campus query and visualization for student attendance.  (This has already been created by our IT team.) 

  3. Wellness

    • Short Term Target - By May 2024, 90% of PreK-5 students will be instructed on the Colorado Social and Emotional Wellness standards.

    • Long Term Target - By May 2026, 100% of PreK-5 students and 6-12 students will be instructed on the Colorado Social and Emotional Wellness standards throughout their PreK-12 journey.

    • Measures -  As measured by SEL survey administered every two years based on the CASEL (Collaborative for Academic, Social and Emotional Learning) Core Competencies and Colorado Academic Standards for Social and Emotional Wellness. 

  4. Character

    • Short Term Target - By May 2024, at least 80% of 4th through 12th grade students will report that they strongly agree/agree on the individual ten character traits identified in E1.2 - All students will develop the qualities of character necessary to be exemplary citizens and positive contributors to society.

    • Long Term Target - By May 2026, each school will achieve the 80% goal on the annual Character Survey for students reporting that they strongly agree/agree on the ten character traits identified in E1.2. 

    • Measures -   A.) As measured by the annual Character Survey conducted each fall for grades 4-12 and reported out to the Board of Education in the spring of each school year. B.) As measured by qualitative data shared by schools on character displayed and recognized by students on an annual basis. 

  5. Belonging

    • Short Term Target - By May 2024, 80% of the action steps for the district-wide belonging goal will be completed. (All staff members will have a professional goal for creating a culture of belonging at their school and/or workplace.) Data from 22-23: 73% of the action steps were completed (by principals).

    • Long Term Target - By May 2026, 90% of the action steps for the district-wide belonging goal will be completed. 

    • Measures -  As measured by completion data from RANDA and Workday for all D20 staff members.
