Sustainability and Awareness
The Green Team at each school works to raise awareness of sustainability in their own building with the help of the Sustainability Program Plan (SPP). The SPP can generate cost savings, conserve resources, provide a more productive working environment, and demonstrate leadership in environmental stewardship. The plan is supported at the district level through yearly Green Grants. At the beginning of each year, all schools are encouraged to begin planning for the development of Green Grants that will raise awareness of sustainability. The Green Team at each school may choose grants that help conserve resources, enhance energy management, and support socially just programs.
