Academy District 20 elementary students who live more than 1.5 miles walking distance from their neighborhood school and secondary students who live more than 1.75 miles from their neighborhood school are eligible for bus service. This walking distance considers walk paths between the neighborhood school and your address.
There are limited transportation options for students who:
attend Aspen Valley High School, or
are participating in School Choice (view our School Choice Transportation page.)
Walk or Ride
If your student attends the neighborhood school and you live outside of the walk zone boundary, your student is eligible for bus service. If you live within the walk zone boundary for your neighborhood school, your student will not qualify for bus service. Please view your schools walk zone boundary map below to determine if you live within the walk zone.
Transportation Requests
Requesting Bus Service
If you live outside of the walk zone for your neighborhood school and would like bus transportation to the neighborhood school, you will need to register for bus service:
Login using your district provided username/password.
All students in your household will be displayed. Click the name of the student for whom you wish to request bus transportation.
Along the top of the screen, select the “Bus Transportation” tab.
Click the Bus Transportation Request link located in the Bus Transportation Request section.
Read and acknowledge the Bus Transportation Request agreement.
Answer the questions within the Bus Transportation Request for your student located at the bottom section of the page.
You will receive an email when your request has been processed. Please verify the email address that you have on file in the Extended Parent Portal is current.
Requesting Space Available Service
If you live outside of the school district or have a special request for bus transportation, you will need to register for Space Available bus service:
Login using your district provided username/password.
All students in your household will be displayed. Click the name of the student for whom you wish to request bus transportation.
Along the top of the screen, select the “Bus Transportation” tab.
Click the Space Available Request link located in the Bus Transportation Request section.
Read and acknowledge the Space Available Request agreement.
Answer the questions within the Space Available Request for your student located at the bottom section of the page.
You will receive an email when your request has been processed. Please verify the email address that you have on file in the Extended Parent Portal is current.
Cancel Bus Service
If your student will no longer utilize bus service, you may cancel at any time by submitting a written request to d20ride@asd20.org. Please include your student’s name and student ID.
If you cancel within the 21-day grace period, your fee will be removed.
Cancel on or before September 2, 2025 to have your first semester fee removed
Cancel on or before January 27, 2026 to have your second semester fee removed
If your request is approved after the semester begins, cancellation must be made within 21 days after approval
View Your Student’s Bus Information
School bus information is available on-line. Your student's information will be visible August 1st of every year. Parents do not receive postcards or written information in the mail regarding school bus assignments for their students.
To find your student's school bus information:
Login with your district provided username/password and click on "Bus Routing"
All students in your household will be displayed. Click the name of the student for whom you wish to view bus information.
The main screen for that student is displayed.
Along the top of the screen are multiple tabs. Select the "Bus Routing tab (upper left).
Bus number, bus stop location and departure/return times will be displayed for your student.
Moving or Changing Schools
A current address is used to determine the student’s eligibility for school bus transportation. To update your address, please contact Central Registry by emailing crhelp@asd20.org. Once your address is updated, please submit a new request through the Extended Parent Portal.
Transportation for Students with an IEP
If you believe your child might qualify for special transportation, contact your case manager.
