Preschool and Special Education

All students, regardless of disability, should be supported and encouraged to reach their potential. We offer these services as early as three years of age.

Child Find

Academy District 20 is responsible for assessing and identifying children who may have educational disabilities. Our professionals are trained to evaluate children in a variety of areas, including cognitive functioning, physical development, hearing and vision, speech and language, as well as social and emotional development.

Child Find is the process we use for assessing and identifying children who may have educational disabilities ages birth to five years old. Contact your child's teacher or the Child Find coordinator, Kelly Cluxton at 719-234-1755 for more details.

Special Education

Our preschool programs serve children ages three to five with disabilities and typically developing peers in an inclusive environment. Children who are eligible for special education under Colorado guidelines receive services free of charge.
