Academy District 20 Team One,
It’s that time of year when our classrooms are overflowing with “ugly sweaters” and whispers of “countdown clocks.” With just a few hours to go, Winter Break is around the corner.
The upcoming break provides a time for reflection and gratitude. As I begin to look back, so many positive moments come to mind: The energy of our Back-to-School Rally, watching our students be honored nationally for their talents and performance, and celebrating our Accreditation with Distinction status for the 15th year in a row.
Team One, it has been a successful first half to the school year! I am filled with appreciation for the care, passion, and dedication poured into our district each day.
In a time when reports of national divisiveness are ever present, D20 remains committed to our shared focus on students. We continue to create and sustain supportive, caring, and safe educational environments, while remaining focused on quality education for all.
I am honored to be part of this passionate community and serve as your superintendent, and I look forward to all we will achieve in the New Year.

School Board Welcomes New Members
Amy Shandy and Derrick Wilburn took their Oath of Office and were seated as the district’s two new school board members. Their first regularly scheduled board meeting is Dec. 14, at 5 p.m.

Five Finalists Announced for School Board Vacancy

School Choice Begins in January
In Colorado, all families may participate in School Choice, a process that allows students to apply to any K-12 Colorado School. We will begin accepting School Choice applications in January.
