We are officially in the homestretch. Five days of school remain for our seniors, while all other students only have 14 days left in the 2022-23 school year.

Recently it seems every conversation ends with, “time is flying.” I think it’s because spring is packed with so many activities and celebrations: plays, field days, senior breakfasts and award ceremonies, the district annual awards, and Years of Service and Retirement Celebrations . . . just to name a few. Plus, this spring, we selected our next superintendent and hosted her for a visit this week (please see below for more about her visit).

As we make our way through these last days of school, please take time to enjoy the ride. Soak in all the excitement that comes with successfully closing the books on another great school year.

We’ll have one last First Friday Footnotes in June, so until then, please enjoy these last days of school, and this amazing weather!

Start/End Times

After hearing feedback and suggestions during community forums held in March, we have developed alternative Start/End Time options for your consideration. Please be on the lookout next week for an email inviting participation in a survey that will help prioritize these options. The survey will be short (less than five minutes) and will serve as the final source of input before a decision in June. Remember, these start times will go into effect for the 2024-25 school year.

Note & Survey from Jinger Haberer, Incoming Superintendent

This week incoming Superintendent Jinger Haberer spent three days attending district stakeholder meetings, touring schools, and connecting with district staff, parents/guardians and patrons. She learned a great deal about the district, and is eager to learn more. She would appreciate if staff and parents/guardians could answer a short and anonymous questionnaire, to help her continue learning about the district.

Read a note from Jinger and complete the questionnaire.

2022-23 District Annual Award Winners

The 2022-23 District-level Annual Award Winners were announced last week. Once again, nomination packets were overflowing with inspiring stories of passion, teamwork and determination. Those who were chosen shared a laser focus on building relationships, harnessing the power of connecting with students, their teammates and families and striving for excellence.

Food Service Operations & Healthy Meals for All

As we shared last month, there are still many questions regarding the Colorado Healthy School Meals for All program (Proposition FF). Please keep in mind, this program will not begin until next school year and there are no changes to food operations this year. Also, please remember all meal account balances this school year will continue to accumulate and must be paid by the end of the school year. Unpaid account balances will be applied as fines in the 23-24 school year.

Be safe and be well,
