The IB Continuum

All three IB programmes (PYP, MYP, and DP)  are offered at Discovery Canyon Campus.

Staff collaboration within and between the programmes ensures a successful and smooth transition for all students. We evaluate student academic success using grade-level appropriate assessment policies and create meaningful assessments that offer students a range of opportunities to display their own level of understanding. In addition to the assessment policy, the common language of the IB Learner Profile also connects the three programmes.

IB Programme Standards and Practices

PYP.pngIn the Primary Years Programme (PYP), the IB’s youngest students learn about and use knowledge, concepts and skills from a variety of subjects to explore six transdisciplinary themes and begin to develop the attributes of the learner profile. All students at Discovery Canyon Campus in grades preK-5 are part of the PYP Program.PYP curriclum model.png
ib-myp-colour-en.pngThe Middle Years Programme (MYP) is a challenging framework that encourages students to make practical connections between their studies and the real world and culminates in a personal project. Students who complete the MYP are well-prepared to undertake the IB Diploma Programme. All students at Discovery Canyon Campus in grades 6-10 are part of the MYP Programme.

Personal Project:  All students at Discovery Canyon Campus create an individual Personal Project during their Sophomore year in which they are able to demonstrate skills learned throughout the MYP while further exploring a topic/passion of their choice.
