CMAS Testing

Parents of Seniors,

CMAS (Colorado Measures of Academic Success) testing for seniors will begin

in November.  The testing window is November 3rd through November 21st  and students will be testing in the content areas of Science and Social Studies. Each content area will have 3 sections consisting of 55 minutes each with an additional 15 minutes of extra time if needed.

In order to minimize the effects of the state mandated testing on instructional time, AAHS has developed an online sign-up procedure    Seniors may choose the testing time that best suits their schedule on Blue days, Silver days, or both.  We will be testing Social Studies November 3rd  through November 10th and Science November 11th through November 18th.   There will be 3 sessions per day that students can choose from.    Beginning on October 20, seniors will go to the AAHS website and click on CMAS sign up or click on the link on the left hand side of web page ) Once logged on, the student has the ability to choose the sessions that will best suit his/her schedule at 7:45, 9:40 or 1:25 daily.  Seniors should choose to test during partial absences, study halls or TA periods first.   The testing schedule will not impact the traditional schedule of the school day.  Students will be expected to attend their classes and when it is time to take a CMAS test, they will be excused to a computer lab for that block and then they will return to their regular schedule for the remainder of the day.

Air Academy is looking forward to analyzing the results on the tests to make sure that our students demonstrate college readiness in the areas of science and social studies.  The state requires that 95% of seniors participate in the CMAS testing in order to maintain our School Performance Rating of 4 (on a 1-4 point scale).

If you have questions about the upcoming testing schedule call Sean Whitson at 234-2419 or email sean.whitson@asd20.org.
