Welcome to the Summit Middle School Program! Summit is a nontraditional middle school for 7th and 8th grade students within Academy District 20.
 
Summit's Mission Statement: "Summit Middle School Program, a nontraditional middle school environment, educates every student through stimulating and engaging instruction. We strive to create positive relationships within an individualized, nurturing, safe and small environment. By honoring each individual's goals and dreams, student are challenged to grow academically and socially, as well as contribute productively in a diverse society."
   

Summit provides the following practices to better serve the nontraditional learner:

    • Pen pals
    • Weekly After School Club

    • Full-time Art Teacher
    • High-interest enrichment activities: technology skills, outdoor activities, and art projects
    • Service projects, such as Care and Share and Make a Difference Day
    • Frequent field trips
    • Frequent assemblies and guest speakers
    • School based jobs
  • Technology-rich instructional practices
    • Virtual Learning Environment
    • Nearly 1:1 ratio of students to computers
    • Web 2.0 activities
  • Positive Behavior Support
    • Reward day every two weeks
