        High Trails Assignments Posted

        • High Trails Assignments for Weeks 1 and 2 are posted outside of Mrs. Stewart’s office. There are 2 spots open for girls to go. If you are interested please see Mrs. Stewart ASAP.

        Community Service Opportunity

        • Are you looking for a way to complete your community service hours?  Be involved with the first annual AIDS Walk.  Ms. Anderson is looking for volunteers to help out with registration, parking, water stations.  See Ms. Anderson in room 306 for details.

        Powderpuff Sign-ups

        • ALL JUNIOR AND SENIOR GIRLS – THE POWDERPUFF FOOTBALL GAME IS SEPTEMBER 29TH.  THE INFORMATION IS AVAILABLE IN THE ATHLETIC OFFICE OR GO TO THE ATHLETIC WEBSITE AND DOWNLOAD THE FORMS. Deadline for registration is September 9th.  Only the first 35 girls who sign-up will be allowed to participate.  Get your forms in now! (end 9/9).

        Weight Room

        • Hey Pine Creek.  Wanna lift weights?  If you want to get huge, or just slightly in shape, the weightroom will be open for all students on Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday after school.

         Breakfast Bar

        • The Pine Creek Theatre Club is sponsoring a new Breakfast Bar every day from 6:45-7:15 in front of the auditorium. The Breakfast Bar will include breakfast burritos, sandwiches, and juice, and all items on the bar will be only $1.

          • The Modern Mythology Club will hold its first general membership meeting this Thursday during seminar.  We will take orders for this year's Star Wars shirt.

            • There will be a project GREEN meeting in room 220 today after seminar is released.

            • Battle of the Bands is this Thursday night!  Be there to hear all the great musicians at our school fight it out!

            National English Honor Society

            • Application packets for National English Honor Society are now available in Room 302 and must be submitted by September 10 to be considered for the next induction ceremony.  For more information, see Mrs. Gefreh in Room 302. (end 9/8)

                Today! Women's Soccer Meeting

                • There is a meeting in room 503 during seminar today for ALL interested Women's Soccer Players.  We need everyone interested in playing to come as well as returning players.  Please come one of the 2 days.

                Football Tailgate

                • Come support our football team as they get ready to beat Rampart High School this Friday night at D20 Stadium. Buy your Tailgate tickets from any Wrestler or Football player today or tomorrow. Tickets are only available for sale at lunch and through Mr. & Mrs. Gabel and Mrs. Gustin in the front office. You will not be able to buy tickets on Friday at the Tailgate. All tickets will be presold. Go Eagles!!!
                • The PCHS Baseball team will be selling 'Mini-Melts" (just like Dippin' Dots) to help support the District Champion Pine Creek Baseball team.  Come by our booth for some delicious Mini-Melts AND help support your baseball classmates at the same time.

                New - Senior Quotes Due!

                • Seniors – have you sent in your senior quote and list of activities yet?  The deadline is October 15 – please email your quote and activities to pinecreekyearbook@hotmail.com as soon as you can so they can get into the yearbook!

                 Women of Distinction Program

                • Senior Women: If you are interested in attending Smith College in Massachusetts and are of African-American, Asian American, Latina or Native American descent, you might want to apply for their on-campus Women of Distinction Program to be held November 12 – 14th.  Those applicants who are accepted will live in campus houses, experience the academic and social life at Smith and attend panels and workshops on student life and the college admissions process.  Smith  will provide round-trip transportation, meals and accommodations.  The deadline for this opportunity is September 24th.                 Senate Youth Program

                • Juniors and Seniors – We have just received information about the United States Senate Youth Program.  This program, established in 1962 is a unique educational experience for outstanding high school students interested in pursuing careers in public service. For information about this program see your Social Studies teachers or you can go-online to http://www.cde.state.co.us/cdeawards/senateyouth.htm.  Applications are due Monday, October 18th.  (End: 9/24)

                New! Scholarship at Davidson College

                • Seniors interested in scholarship at Davidson College in North Carolina might want to find out about two scholarship opportunities at this school.  First there is the Belk Scholarship that covers the comprehensive costs of attending Davidson (room, board, tuition and fees).  This scholarship is valued at over $47,000.  The Lowell Bryan Scholarship program offers awards , each valued at $30,00 annually, to two scholar-athletes (one woman and one man) in each entering class. Both of these programs require nomination from your school.  If you are interested in either program see Mrs. Payne for more information soon.  Deadlines for the Belk nomination are 11/15 and the Bryan on 10/15.                 Juniors and Seniors:  Before you know it it will be time for the Out-of-State College Fair on Monday, October 4th.  Make your plans to attend this event to be held at Phil Long Expo Center from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.  It is like one-stop shopping for college for you and your parents!  Another benefit of having all the out-of-state representatives here in town that week is that we get to have many of them visit our schools. Because of the amount of  colleges who come to Pine Creek October 4th and 5th we will not be separately announcing them as we do the other school visits throughout the year.  Each day in announcements you will see a running list that is added to as we get more visits scheduled. Feel free to just come see what sign-ups we have to offer by coming to see Mrs. Payne outside the College/Career Center.  Here is our current list of schools for those two days:

                The Christian College Fair is also coming up at the end of the month, Monday, September 27th from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Colorado Springs Christian School.  Make plans to attend so that you can visit many good Christian colleges at once!  If you are interested in finding what colleges will be coming ask Mrs. Cornelio or Mrs. Payne for a list.  We should be getting that list soon.   (End: 9/24)
