In-Person or Virtual Attendance

You may attended school board meetings in-person or virtually from home via Microsoft Teams.

  • In-person attendance is limited to boardroom capacity of 70 audience members per the Colorado Springs Fire Marshall.

  • The link to attend the meeting virtually can be found in the ASD20.org calendar the Monday ahead of each meeting. Simply visit our online calendar, select Board of Education, then click on the day of the meeting and you will find the link.

  • Note, those who attend in person, may be captured on camera during the live feed and recorded versions of the meeting.  

Comments to the Board

We invite public comment at our meetings.

  • You must sign-up to speak between 7 a.m. and 1 p.m., the day of the board meeting by completing our Public Comment Form.

    • You must be present and available to speak in-person at the podium when called upon. Comments may be up to two minutes in length.

    • Virtual public comments are not permitted.

  • If you cannot attend in-person, we invite you to submit your comments in writing via the Public Comment Form between 7 a.m. and 1 p.m. the day of the board meeting. Written comments submitted through the Public Comment Form will not be read publicly at the board meeting, but they will be included as part of the public record in the minutes for the meeting.

  • The Board of Education reserves two times for public comments during their meetings.

    • Academy District 20 students and members of the public who are talking about a topic on the meeting’s agenda will speak during the first public comment section, after the “Information Items” on the meeting’s agenda.

    • Those speaking about a topic not on the meeting’s agenda will speak during the second public comment section, typically toward end of the school board meeting, directly ahead of the Debrief.

    • We can’t state the exact times of these public comments because it is dependent on other agenda items within the meeting. Please review the meeting’s agenda for details.

If you are attending one of our meetings virtually via Microsoft Teams and would like to see captions, use the "CC" button to turn captions on; use the gear button (settings) to adjust the caption language. These buttons are located at the lower right of the video window.
